There is a wide range of accommodation available on Maltese Islands: mostly hotels, apartments and villas. The government is attempting to drive Malta's tourist industry up-market and almost all the new hotels and developments are at the luxury end of the spectrum. However, there are still plenty of good budget options.

High & Low Seasons

The cost of accommodation in Malta varies considerably with the time of the year. Low season rates are often a bargain. Low season is almost always 1 November to 31 March.
High season generally refers to the period 1 April to 31 October, but some hotels have a shoulder- or mid- season covering April, May and October, with high-season prices restricted to July, August and September. Many hotels count the Christmas and New Year period as a high season too.
